"Horror Noire: A History of Black Horror" Film Screening & Discussion

Join the Worcester Public Library for a screening of the Shudder Original documentary Horror Noire: A History of Black Horror, an untold history of Black Americans through their connection to the horror film genre. After the discussion, film co-writer and co-producer, Ashlee Blackwell, will join us virtually for a Q & A.
The film will be shown 6:00 - 7:30 with a 45 minute discussion to follow.

Since creating Graveyard Shift Sisters in October 2013, Ashlee Blackwell has co-written and co-produced the Shudder Original documentary, Horror Noire: A History of Black Horror. Her research is focused on Black American women-identified filmmakers who write/direct in the horror genre, for which she wrote a chapter about in the anthology Bloody Women: Women Directors of Horror. She is also an adjunct professor who teaches film studies.
