About Stephen King Day – Hallowell, ME
This May, Hallowell is host to the very special Stephen King Day, a city-wide tribute to Maine’s master of suspense. Inspired by King’s storytelling legacy, the event invites the community to celebrate the written word, creative expression, and the eerie charm that makes his work so unforgettable.

Expect a packed lineup of happenings throughout downtown Hallowell, from creepy fun and themed activities to book chats and offbeat entertainment. With something for every age and interest, Stephen King Day promises a one-of-a-kind blend of literature, local flavor, and just the right amount of weird. New events are being added all the time—so keep your flashlight handy.

Although not officially connected to Stephen King or his publishers—and with no appearance by the author himself—this day is all about the impact his stories have had on readers and creators alike.
