"Nosferatu" (1922) Screening with live Piano Scoring

It’s 1922 in Germany and you sit in a dark theater and watch Nosferatu - a black and white film with no sound and no soundtrack, instead a lone pianist or organist is in the theater possibly also watching the film for the first time. The musician creates the world of Nosferatu and sets the mood for the first ever horror movie. The plot seems familiar. Nosferatu was clearly adapted from Dracula - so much so that Bram Stoker’s widow sued the film makers and they were forced to destroy all copies of the film.

Join the Maynard Fine Arts Theatre to see a film you were never supposed to see, the way you were supposed to see it- with original live music!

Tickets: $28.52

Location: Maynard Fine Arts Theatre

The music of pianist/improviser Devereux Geiger can be heard on multiple short films as well as the feature length movie “The Clown Affair.” Devereux has been hired throughout New England to compose scenic music for plays and improvise for theaters such as Improv Boston.
