"Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare" (1991) Film Screening

Ghost sightings, spiritualism, and talking to the dearly departed were pervasive practices in 19th century America, and will be unearthed, once again, at the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum with a riveting and chilling program titled, Ghosts, Seances & the Great Beyond: Halloween Tours at the Mansion, chaired by LMMM volunteer Rose Carroll with a script written by docent Midge Lopat

Tour times: 5:30 p.m. (kid-friendly), 6:30 p.m., 7:15 p.m. & 8:15 p.m.

In the Victorian era, most people believed it was possible to communicate with the dead, and consulting with mediums was part of a mourning ritual as well as a coping mechanism that even titans of industry, political leaders, and renowned scientists were known to explore, including Cornelius VanderbiltQueen Victoria, and Thomas Edison. The Mansion will open its doors to these ghosts of the past and share stories that will thrill and chill visitors of all ages. Beware of bumping into ghosts walking across the walls of the Mansion’s Period Rooms, as they see no obstacles, especially on Halloween.

Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Admission:
$18 members, $20 non-members.
Purchase tickets in advance.
