The Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular runs Thursday, October 4th - Sunday, November 4, 2018.   Tickets go on sale July 1st, 2018!

Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular, presented by Citizens Bank, at Roger Williams Park Zoo is celebrating 30 years of Halloween magic October 4 – November 4. Called EXTRAORDINARY by both CNN and USA Today, this year’s show includes more than 5,000 intricately carved pumpkins featuring scenes of wizards, fairytales, and the luminaries of great myths and legends, alongside superheroes, and historical figures who changed our world. Revel in the sights and sounds of the season, and celebrate this otherworldly experience.

Admission and Hours 

Prime Nights (Friday, Saturday, Sunday):
Timed ticket entry requires pre-registration. Online sales ONLY.
Adult $18; Child $15 (ages 2-12). Children 1 year and under are always admitted free--tickets still needed.
Trail open 6:00pm-11:00pm. LAST TICKET SOLD AT 10:30pm. 

Value Nights (Monday through Thursday):
Sold online and at Zoo admissions.
Adult $15; Child $12 (ages 2-12). Children 1 year and under are always admitted free--tickets still needed.

Soaring Eagle Zip Ride

Zip Ride tickets sold ONLY at admissions gate

Fly 115 feet high in comfortable side-by-side seats, and see out over Providence and into Narragansett Bay. Open every night during the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular. Some restrictions apply. Open weather permitting - will not open in heavy rain and/or high winds.
To take part in the evening Soaring Eagle Zip Ride experience, all riders must also purchase a same-night Jack-O-Lantern ticket at the admissions gate. If Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular tickets are purchased online – the ticket must be shown at admissions window in order to purchase Soaring Eagle tickets. Guests will enter the ride at the end of the pumpkin trail.

Pricing: $15 per rider | $13 for current RWP Zoo members

  • Tickets are on a first come first served basis. No advanced reservations accepted.
  • Between 6 – 10:30 pm, only 40 tickets sold each hour for this exciting new ride. Soar over the Zoo with a beautiful nighttime view of the area! 
  • Open all seven nights of the week.

Children's Fairy Tale Nights - Wednesday and Thursday, October 10th & 11th, 2018  5:30pm-8:00pm   Event details

Meet beloved children’s fairy tale characters.  Take pictures with Peter Pan, Cinderella, Snow White, Robin Hood and favorite Dr. Seuss characters such as the Cat in the Hat and the Grinch.  As the sun sets, find your favorite fairy tales characters intricately carved on the pumpkins at the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular at Roger Williams Park Zoo. 

Wizarding Nights - Wednesday and Thursday, October 17th & 18th, 2018  6:00pm-8:00pm    Event details

Wizards and witches get your wands, mount your brooms and fly on over to Roger Williams Park Zoo’s Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular to meet some of the characters from J.K. Rowling’s beloved series.  Before you embark on the pumpkin trail, try a butter beer or a chocolate frog.  Then travel the pumpkin trail, and identify characters and scenes from the wizarding world.  

Super Hero Nights - Wednesday and Thursday, October 24th & 25th, 2018  6:00pm-8:00pm   Event details

You never know who might show up at the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular at Roger Williams Park Zoo.  Comic book fans might meet Black Panther, Captain America, Iron Man, Spider Man, and the gang, take a photo, and find out how they all save the world.  As our heroes go back out to fight evil, find your hero’s pumpkin on the pumpkin trail.

Spooky Zoo - Saturday and Sunday, October 27th & 28th, 2018 Event details

Spooky Zoo is back, offering daytime outdoor autumn activities for the whole family! Come trick-or-treat (while supplies last) with us beginning at 10:30 am on the Treat Trail by the red wolf exhibit. Kids and adults will enjoy a packed schedule of seasonal activities. Activities are free with Zoo admission and all children 12 and under dressed in costume get in for half price. All activities are weather permitting and while supplies last.

Boo at the Zoo Family Overnight - Saturday, October 20th and Saturday, October 27th, 2018 Event details

Snooze at the Zoo for the wildest family overnight adventure in town! The night begins with pizza and ice cream before educators engage you and your child(ren) in an owl pellet dissection, program animal encounters, and give you VIP access to the world famous Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular. Set up your sleeping bags in the Meller-Danforth Education Center with popcorn and a movie to snooze to. You’ll need your zzzzs before waking up with the animals! A light breakfast will be provided before a morning Zoo tour. Click for schedule of events. This program is not designed for adults without children.

WEATHER POLICY – Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular is open rain or shine. In the case of light to moderate rain, the show will be open. There will be no refunds or rescheduling. Please check the website or visit Facebook for updates.

Active Roger Williams Park Zoo members save $2 off adult and $1 off child tickets nightly for the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular.
